Binnenhof, Parliament, Ridderzaal
The Binnenhof is where the Dutch parliament is seated, the oldest parliamentary parlor in the world that is still in use. The Binnenhof is open to the public. You can also visit the beautiful Ridderzaal or book a guided tour.
The most important works and tessellations of the famous graphic artist Escher’s (1898-1972) are exhibited in de former Winter Palace of Queen Emma. More info...
Surrounded by a huge painting that is painted in a cylinder it feels like you are in Scheveningen in the 19th century. Hendrik Willem Mesdag painted this seascape in 1881 and with more than 14 meters high and 120 meters in circumference it is the oldest panaroma in the world that is still in its original location. Vincent van Gogh was one of the guests at its opening.
The Peace Palace
The International Court of Justice resides in this beautiful building. You can visit the palace and walk through the beautiful gardens.
The Noordeinde Palace
Work palace of King Willem-Alexander. The beautiful garden is open to the public.

Shopping
If you like shopping, The Hague is the place to visit. Many cozy streets with antiques, design and fashion. Worth a visit are the Hofkwartier (around Noordeinde Palace), Prinsestraat for art and design and on the Lange Voorhout there is a weekly antiques and book market.
The oldest shopping arcade in the Netherlands is The Hague Passage (UNESCO monument), built in 1885 for fancy shopping. A nice department store is the Bijenkorf.
30 Minutes by train from The Hague
Known for its important international port, but also for its modern architecture (Cube Homes, Market Hall and Erasmus Bridge). On top of the the Euromast you have a wide view of the city and the harbour.

Old historic city, known for its Delft Blue Pottery (More info Museum / Factory Royal Delft). and birthplace of Johannes Vermeer. In the New Church (central market square) you can find the tomb of William of Orange (1584) and various members of the Royal House.
The Beestenmarkt ( where cattle was traded) was traditionally the center of the city and is now a cozy square with cafes, terraces and restaurants.
20 minutes by train from The Hague
12th Century town with canals and famous for the Gouda Cheese ( and syrup waffles) with the 15th-century town hall and the Goudse Waag, where the cheese used to be weighed and traded. Nowadays, it houses a museum.
Gouda - Windmills Kinderdijk - Rotterdam
Take the train to Gouda, visit the cheese market and stay overnight. The next day hire a bike (20 km to Kinderdijk) or take a bus and visit the mills of Kinderdijk (stay overnight), then bike to Rotterdam or take the waterbus ( you can bring your bike on the boat) and then back to The Hague.

A lively beach side resort with a 400 meter’s long Pier, running into the North Sea and the famous Kurhaus, build in 1818 as a bathing house, now transformed in a luxurious 5 star hotel with a spectacular interior.
